BLANCO SEPULVEDA, Osvaldo; RAIN RAIN, Alicia  e  JULIAN VEJAR, Dasten. Precariousness, Racialization and Intersectionality. Job Segments and Profiles of Mapuche Women in La Araucanía, Chile. Rev. mex. cienc. polít. soc [online]. 2022, vol.67, n.245, pp.331-369.  Epub 21-Abr-2023. ISSN 0185-1918.  https://doi.org/10.22201/fcpys.2448492xe.2022.245.78829.

The racialization of indigenous work is a highly relevant issue for understanding the persistence of colonial asymmetries and inequalities in Latin America. This article proposes a classification system for job segments and profiles in a traditionally invisible group: Mapuche women residing in the La Araucanía region (Chile). Our proposal consists of a typology of seven profiles constructed with a set of labor, demographic, and socioeconomic variables. We begin by developing the relevance of the present study through a discussion of different approaches, including from precariousness, intersectionality, and racialization. We then present the results produced by combining multiple correspondence analysis and cluster k-means. The article ends with defining the scope and limitations of this proposal, as well as the lines of research and public policy discussion that stem from the results.

Palavras-chave : segmentation of the labor market; Mapuche women; precariousness; racialization; intersectionality.
