This descriptive cross-sectional study provides a comparative statistical analysis conducted with students during their final year in the administrative track at three Mexican universities. The purpose of the research was to test the professional competencies students developed depending on their exit profiles and the applied method (classroom, mixed or virtual), in order to differentiate the competencies that strengthen their exit profiles and which need to be strengthened. The instrument used to examine competencies was structured in order to consider questions that reproduce the decision-making process and the context administrators must face. Regardless of the educational method, results showed appreciation close to advanced levels in basic, cross-sectional and specific competencies. Favorable indicators were highlighted in the case of teamwork and the need to strengthen project development competencies. Significant differences were noted among virtual learning students compared to other methods.
