CASTRO, Alejandra  e  SERRA, María Florencia. School spaces and universalizing utopia - Definitions, tensions and questions around the spatial issues and the expansion of the right to school. Perfiles educativos [online]. 2021, vol.43, n.171, pp.178-195.  Epub 28-Fev-2022. ISSN 0185-2698.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iisue.24486167e.2021.171.59383.

This paper inquires upon the right to education, the claim to school universality and the school space within the framework of the expansion of the compulsory nature of school. One of the central questions is how can we create a school space that accommodates everyone? To do this, we first did a tour among several schools andproblematized the concept of "school space", analyzing other ways of naming and giving meaning to it based on the contributions of different sciences and disciplines such as pedagogy, geography, architecture and sociology, among others. In a second stage of the process, we delved into the analysis of the relationship between Comenius legacy of "teaching everything to everyone", the current legislation on education and inclusion, and the issue of school space, pointing out some tensions and challenges to consider.

Palavras-chave : School space; Right to schooling; Inclusion; Educational policies; Territoriality in the school.
