This study underlines the variations in the implementation of three fundamental aspects of the 'New Academic Model' which are curriculum flexibility, student and professor mobility and institutional tutorship programs. The results suggest that actions are necessary to facilitate the implementation of the New Academic Model, i.e. the homogenization of school calendars, the creation of an internal system of recognition of credits and inclusion criteria for the processes of tutor-ships, to mention a few. Further research is necessary to weigh the effects of more flexibility in the professional profiles, the concept of graduate profiles and the establishment of general qualifications of a given profession as well as the advantages of partial specialization at the undergraduate level.
