BOJANIć, Petar. Divine Violence in Benjamin and the Korah Case: A Rebellion Against Moses as the Opening Scene of Messianism (Book of Numbers 16). Acta poét [online]. 2010, vol.31, n.1, pp.135-161. ISSN 2448-735X.

This paper will explore the importance of biblical Korah's role in Walter Benjamin's Critique of Violence, namely in the last part, dealing with divine violence. Korah, who had led a revolt against Moses and Aharon, was annihilated by God's violence, i.e., a purely revolutionary violence. My aim in this attempt to reconstruct the sources of the text and Korah's intervention in the narrative is to point out how Benjamin's grasp of revolution has been misunderstood and how Korah features a first step in constructing the messianic theatre.

Palavras-chave : Korah; Benjamin; divine violence; revolutionary violence; messianic theatre.
