OLAGUE MENDEZ, María del Carmen. Villismo and Revolution in Nellie Campobello’s post-revolutionary literature (1931-1960). Relac. Estud. hist. soc. [online]. 2023, vol.44, n.175, pp.60-78.  Epub 06-Nov-2023. ISSN 2448-7554.  https://doi.org/10.24901/rehs.v44i175.988.

This article aims to analyze the idea of Revolution through Nellie Campobello’s work written between 1931 and 1960: Cartucho, Las manos de mama, Apuntes sobre la vida militar de Francisco Villa y Prólogo a Mis libros. This paper argues that Campobello’s idea of the Revolution was indissociable from Northern Mexico and villismo, more than for political ideals because she shared the same time and space with the villistas in her adolescence. To analyze this relationship between subject, time, and space, was decided to use Mikhail Bakhtin's creative chronotope analysis category to account for the influence of the social world on the author and her writing.

Palavras-chave : Revolution; Villismo; Post-revolution; Intellectual History; Chronotope.
