REYES-SANCHEZ, Laura Bertha  e  GOMEZ M., Margarita R.. Creativity: basic agent on education and resource for interdisciplinary teaching in soil science. Terra Latinoam [online]. 2009, vol.27, n.3, pp.265-272. ISSN 2395-8030.

In this paper is discussed the importance that creativity has in environmental education, as an essential factor in solving problems that new generations will have to face, and in forming collective awareness of the necessity to conserve natural resources. Reasons are given for the assertion that only an interdisciplinary process of teaching-learning allows the student to explore his own ideas can guarantee the creative education citizens of the future need for sustainability and survival. That process of teaching-learning requires developing interactively with and among all sciences and arts, as a means of forming a culture grounded in collective awareness which allows us to use natural resources rationally and inspires us to strive for their conservation. Awareness and culture do not arise spontaneously, but rather must be constructed and developed by means of daily reflection on the need for a creative attitude in the face of environmental problems with daily exercise on approaches and concrete facts, that is, an educational process of teaching and learning sciences for sustainable development. From this perspective we discuss how teaching soil science can contribute to teaching sciences in general.
