ALONSO BAEZ, Moisés  e  AGUIRRE MEDINA, Juan Francisco. Conservation Tillage Effects on Soil Properties. Terra Latinoam [online]. 2011, vol.29, n.2, pp.113-121. ISSN 2395-8030.

An experiment was conducted at three locations in the Soconusco, Chiapas, Mexico: Tapachula (TAP), Tuxtla Chico (TCH) and Frontera Hidalgo (FRA), which objective was to assess the impact of conservation tillage (no tillage, NT, and minimum tillage, MT), and conventional tillage (CT) on the content of organic matter (OM), bulk density (ρb) and saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ks) in two successive production cycles of corn: rainfed and residual moisture. The experiment consisted of three treatments of 0.5 ha each: NT, MT, and CT. Planting date at each site (TAP, TCH, and FRA) were May 10, 20 and 28 for rainfed and, August 20, 25 and 30 for year 2007 for residual moisture. Within each treatment, OM was determined every 10 cm until 40 cm deep at the beginning of the experiment (April 2007) and then every six months (November, 2007 and April 2008); the ρb and Ks were determined only at the beginning and a year later. In the short term, the statistical analysis of the impact of tillage systems and depth over OM had significant differences in sites TAP and FRA, and highly significant in depth, as in all sites higher concentration of OM in the 0 to 20 cm was determined (Tukey, 0.05). For ρb and Ks statistically significant difference was not detected.
