CHAPELA, Andrea. Between fiction and science: The use of narrative in teaching science. Educ. quím [online]. 2014, vol.25, n.1, pp.2-6. ISSN 0187-893X.
Using narrative to help science education is not a new idea, but in recent years new curricula and lessons plans have appeared in journals and the Internet. Science fiction is the primary genre used to teach science not only because they are tightly linked, but because it helps illustrate abstract concepts, and it also generates interest in science. In this article, some examples of literature and film are used to show how narrative can be used at the classroom. Finally, the article closes with a close-up of the interaction within narrative, particularly science fiction, and science, showing that science fiction has inspired many scientists along the way.
