MENDOZA, Manuel et al. Spatially distributed hydrological modeling: a review of components, integration levels and implications for estimating hydrological processes in non-instrumented basins. Invest. Geog [online]. 2002, n.47, pp.36-58. ISSN 2448-7279.
This article reviews and discusses the remote sensing (RS) techniques and geographic information systems (GIS), as well as the geomorphological knowledge associated to spatially distributed hydrological modeling. The discussion allowed to defined four groups which Integrate the different Remote Sensing (RS) techniques, Geographic Information systems (GIS) and the geomorphological knowledge oriented to understand the environmental implications of land degradation and resource management, especially in developing countries. Groups include: a) hydrological modeling and GIS; b) RS and hydrological models; hydrological modeling, RS and GIS; and d) integration of the geomorphological knowledge, RS and GIS application to hydrological modelling.
