MAYO-MENDOZA, Milca; ROMO-CAMPOS, Rosa de Lourdes  e  MEDINA-FERNANDEZ, Pablo. Relative rate growth of herbaceous with restoration potential of degraded forest soils in the Primavera forest, Jalisco, Mexico. Acta univ [online]. 2018, vol.28, n.2, pp.58-66. ISSN 2007-9621.  https://doi.org/10.15174/au.2018.1930.

39 herbaceous species were planted on degraded soils of the La Primavera forest, with two treatments, 1. planting with all species and 2. planting with the fabaceae, and 15 days later the rest of the species were added in plots of 1 m-2. The coverage, density and growth rate (leaf area quotient and net assimilation rate) were analyzed with Análisis de Varianza (Anova). Dalea leporina recorded the highest coverage, and Cosmos bipinnatus recorded the highest density. Asteraceae recorded the highest growth. Desmodium sericophyllum and D. aparines showed the highest leaf area ratio, and Cosmos bipinnatus showed the highest rate of assimilation. The presence of other species did not affect the density or growth of the fabaceae and showed morphological and physiological adjustments with competitive advantages to establish themselves in degraded soils, this is why they are the best option to initiate processes of plant succession to restore soils in La Primavera forest.

Palavras-chave : Herbaceous; relative growth rate; soil restoration.
