JARAMILLO PUEBLA, Norma Angélica. Commerce and public space: An organization of ambulatory informal sellers at the Alameda Central Park. Alteridades [online]. 2007, vol.17, n.34, pp.137-153. ISSN 2448-850X.
This paper analyzes the group of representations that lead the conflict between the different social actors who have a rivalry due to the appropriation and utilization of public space. The social dynamics that establish the land rivalry are approached through the study of the impact that the urban regeneration programs have had. Such programs were developed by the government within the frame of Mexico City's Historical Center. Specifically, this article examines the representations and social imaginary that give sense to the social practices of an organization of ambulatory informal sellers, placed at the Alameda Central Park. As a result of a rigid and limited economy, this organization has been doing an economic activity that implies the use of the public space as its place to commercialize.
