Retaking Bourdieu's concept of desfase estructural, this article analyzes the genesis of indigenous intellectuals in Bolivia from the sixties and the role they have played in the recent history of indigenous movements, as producers of meaning and agents in dispute by the legitimacy of their status and intellectual practice.
