This article offers a multidimensional outlook on inequality by analyzing the interconnections between three levels at which power is wielded: that of individual skills, that of interactions in social arenas, and that of the structural networks of inequality. It analyzes the limitations of the individualist, interactionist, and holistic approaches to inequality that have been experienced separately by each of these dimensions. It also reviews the intersections between equality of resources, equality of opportunities, and equality of results, and it assesses the scope and limitations of certain strategies for tackling inequality.
