Recently there is a special focus on the future. The meaning of the future is expressed in the hopes and concerns of many people, in terms of a device of power that configures subjectivities, which imprints a tension in the projects of life, and expresses the nonsense and anxiety in the face of uncertainty. In this text mental maps about the future made by 126 university students are analyzed, under the theoretical perspective of the power device proposed by Agamben based on Foucault. A catastrophic hyper technologized vision of the future is observed, which is contradicted by an optimistic personal project rooted in the traditional values of society.
