ZrO2-TiO2 at different compositions was prepared by low temperature sol-gel method with HNO3, NH4OH and CH3COOH as additives. The alcogels were calcined (300-700 °C) and characterized by N2 physisorption, XRD and TGA-DTA. By varying the composition, the H2O / alkoxide and additive/alkoxide ratios and the type of additive it was possible to modulate the textural properties of the prepared oxides. The TiO2-rich formulation (85 w %) was the one with larger pores (5-8 nm). The maximum in surface area was found for samples of composition near the equimolar (samples calcined at 500 °C).
