Resumo

Abstract The beginning of antisepsis occurred in Mexico with the use of chlorinated, that was invented by chemist Antoine Labarraque (1777-1850). We describe the way, the authors and used this substance by Mexican surgeons and the impact on its clinical use in the 19th century, described in thesis of undergraduate and Mexican surgeons articles show the strict use of that substance, taught by the eminent General Francisco Montes de Oca (1837-1885), who obtained notable successes in preventing infection at almost zero percent of complications by germens bacterial age.
