This paper describes the development of intercultural bilingual education in the provinces of Salta and Misiones (Argentina); both provinces have a Guaraní population and contexts of linguistic and cultural heterodoxy. The purpose is to identify points of encounter and divergence in the educational proposals aimed at the Guaraní population in the two provinces. For this reason, our work focused on the historical and legal references of the development of intercultural bilingual education in each province, along with our own research of the provinces' Guaraní populations, from an anthropological perspective.
