This article explains the methodology experience in the construction of the two demographic indicators: life expectancy and infant mortality for 1990 and 1995 by sex and region. Is evident the limitation of the dates and population information in Chiapas (registry office deficient and problems with the information source). Also the results from the gender perspective were analyzed, obtaining a panoramic view by regions and gender of the different situations and how women and men confront these items in the state of Chiapas.
