CISNEROS-LASCURAIN, Eduardo Ernesto  e  COHUO-AVILA, Miguel Ángel. A model of new technology implementation using a systems thinking approach. Ing. invest. y tecnol. [online]. 2020, vol.21, n.1, e00004.  Epub 03-Ago-2020. ISSN 2594-0732.  https://doi.org/10.22201/fi.25940732e.2020.21n1.004.

The management of the implementation of new technology in manufacturing companies faces complex problems such as scarce and changing human and financial resources, technological advances that exceed the capacity of infrastructure and compatibility, the need for immediate reconfiguration and a constant change of requirements. This article proposes an engineering management model using the Systemic Thinking and Modeling (PSyM) approach in its 5 phases, problem structuring, causal link modeling, dynamic modeling, scenario planning and modeling, and finally implementation and learning. organizational Its objective is to improve the implementation activity of new technology by contemplating the Vensin® PLE modeling tool allowing to study its reaction to certain changes over time; the model was validated by submitting it to the following verifications: the casual loop diagram corresponds to the statement of the problem, the model is dimensionally valid, adequate documentation of each equation in the model, the model does not produce unreal values, the behavior of the model is plausible , the model maintains the “flow conservation” and each equation makes sense when its inputs take extreme values. Experimentation was considered with a simulation scheme of 22 policy parameters grouped into 4 strategic sectors: technology, engineering, human resources and finance, using the evaluation capacity of the model, the weaknesses of each sector were identified and a scenario is proposed to improve them. By analyzing the Engineering Management and New Technology Introduction (GIINT) model, managers can consider the decisions based on the effect of these on the implementation activity of new technology of their company, they can identify the elements that influence the implementation of technology and relate them to the effects in different areas of the company.
