Ageing is nowadays an undeniable reality in the Portuguese context, being our country one of the most old age of the Europe. However, we can't look at this situation as a problem but rather as a challenge and an opportunity. Today it is possible to reach an older age in a healthy, active and conscious way, something unthinkable some years ago. Therefore is our interest argue that, if we want our seniors to live a quality aging, it is essential that the geriatric practices could be based on the knowledge, already significant in many areas, including the Education and training of adults and, namely the Educational Gerontology. Thus, this article aims to realise what are the perceptions that Professors of Portuguese Senior Universities have concerning senior students in the learning context and understand what the main difficulties are. It also intends to comprehend the reasons that led these professors to teach at Senior University.
