The text is aimed to expound the social representations, from the information, field of representation and attitudes regarding the physical education and sports profession which are shared by physical educators in training at the University of Colima, Mexico. Is a descriptive study. For the empirical inquiry, a semi-structured questionnaire was applied to 166 students through Google Forms platform. Results of the information students possess regarding the profession derives from digital means, family, friends, and acquaintances, and mainly revolves on the physical educator’s characteristics and job profiles. Also, it is possible to determine that the field of representation includes five views of the profession: easy and discreditable; initial high vocation; athlete and teacher profile; enthusiastic, versatile, passionate, and committed; and social agents in health, physical well-being and values. Regarding attitudes, the results reveal a positive inclination, whereas there is a direct link between the vocation they have for this discipline and their personal interests in the career path they wish to take. It is concluded that physical education and sports profession is socially undervalued, but students have positive views and attitudes in the context of training and job field.
