One of the Enlightenment goals was the emergence of new spaces of sociability where the new ideas, scientific knowledge and public opinion could develop. The opposition from universities and religious institutions agains the new proposals guided enlightened, with or without official support, to create new forms of association, such us academies, salons and a great number of new media. This essay tries to emphasize women participation in the new public spaces, particularly in the Court of Madrid.
