"Three days and an ashtray" is one of the texts included in Palindroma (1971), which has not received more attention because most consider it autobiographical. However, this is a tale of great significance in the work of Arreola, which contains artistic recreation of an ethical and aesthetical position with which the author seeks to contribute to the discussion of a number of issues that have marked the evolution of art and artistic creation.
