GONZALEZ CHAVEZ, María de Lourdes  e  GONZALEZ GOMEZ, Gabriela Beatriz. El trabajo migratorio de indocumentados en México. Migr. Inter [online]. 2009, vol.5, n.2, pp.97-122. ISSN 2594-0279.

This article examines the antinomies between Mexico's Ley general de población (General Population Act) and its Ley federal del trabajo (Federal Labor Law), which are in detriment to immigrants who, for whatever reason, are working in Mexico without legal authorization to do. To this end, we studied the history of these two federal laws, Mexico's policy regarding illegal workers, and the contradictions in its oficial position that arise because it accepts a human being's inherent right to work, but violates that right when applying national laws. Finally, we see the implementation of the General Population Act's article 67 as a violation of workers' labor rights because illegal immigrants in Mexico are taking part in a legal and lawful activity.

Palavras-chave : Ley general de población; immigration policy; Labor migration; human rights; transmigration.
