Places with recent migration, either as places of origin and destination, obviously have an extraordinary dynamics. The state of Sinaloa joins this dynamic which now appear in three main urban areas: Culiacán, Mazatlán and Ahome. However, migration as a social process involves a series of interactions created in the past that affect the formation of migrant networks. Thus, for decades the main areas of expulsion in Sinaloa have been rural areas and play a key role in the current social relations of migrants from Culiacan.
