This article is a compilation of narratives about the risk of HIV/AIDS have been produced in Mexico, arguments and rhetorical that has guided greatly, social and political response that has occurred in our country regarding risk. The review allude the distinct presidential sexenios where the disease has been part of the agenda as a public health problem, being aware of the institutional response on communication and risk management, maintaining close ties with the ideological trend of power holders, civil organizations and media industry that are actively involved in the communication and risk management. Speeches retrieved let show how HIV/AIDS and the risk associated with it, has emerged based on a multiplicity of social and political interests that seek to legitimize ideologies and values of religious or political groups in specific historical moments.
