ELIZALDE LOPEZ, Guadalupe Genoveva et al. Management Models in Common Rangelands of Huichapan, Mexico. Revista Col. San Luis [online]. 2021, vol.11, n.22, 00009.  Epub 16-Fev-2024. ISSN 2007-8846.  https://doi.org/10.21696/rcsl112220211268.

The objective of the study is to examine management models in common rangelands, based on the analysis of the cow-calf system and provision norms, to identify exploitation mechanisms; through the analysis of 12 of the 36 ejidos of Huichapan. The methodology considered an inductive research approach, which collected information from focus groups, perception questionnaires, in-depth and semi-structured interviews; analyzed using descriptive statistics and X2 tests. Three models were found: closed (58 percent), participatory (25 percent), and open (17 percent). In the categories of use, driving, and regulation, the variables with significant association were: limit of animals, family work, joint management, limit in grazing, and limited access. The recognition of deterioration by users is the factor that encourages the development of management models in common use rangelands, from which provision standards are issued that limit the number of animals to graze and give exclusive access to ejidatarios or users who rent rights of use.
