RODRIGUEZ ZOYA, Leonardo G.. Complex Thinking, Social Simulation, and Complex Problems. A Public Policy Analysis in the Patagonia of Argentina. Revista Col. San Luis [online]. 2022, vol.12, n.23, 00009.  Epub 27-Maio-2024. ISSN 2007-8846.  https://doi.org/10.21696/rcsl122320221346.

This article analyzes the theoretical and practical relevance of complex thinking to guide the process of modeling and computational simulation of a complex problem in order to foster reflexivity and decision-making. The argument unfolds in four moments. First, we problematize the link between complex thinking and complex systems simulation and its relevance to organizational analysis. Second, some theoretical and practical strategies are analyzed to operationalize complex thinking in organizational research. We introduce a platform for modeling and simulation social organizations, the SocLab framework. Third, we use SocLab to model and simulate the formation process of a Cluster of fine fruit producers in Argentine Patagonia, and we systematize the lessons learned from the analysis developed. Fourth, we conclude that complex thinking allows using the simulation model as a meta point of view that allows social actors to reflect on the epistemic, ethical, and practical aspects of their strategies.
