ARRIAGA MARTINEZ, Rafael. Max Weber: entre relativismo e individualismo metodológico. Entrevista con Michel Maffesoli. Culturales [online]. 2012, vol.8, n.16, pp.197-236. ISSN 2448-539X.

¿Max Weber relativistic? Yes, affirms Michel Maffesoli (1985). Raymond Boudon, intellectual leader of the current sociological thought inspired by Weber's theory of rationality, argues that the relativistic reading work of Maffesoli would be unacceptable. Despite the theoretical position differences and disagreements between both authors about the work of Weber, we might as well maintain as a working hypothesis the idea of the irreducibility of Weber to a only one epistemological position, as proposed by Maffesoli. It is therefore and under this context of differences in position on Boudon that we try to consider this other relativistic interpretation of Maffesoli of the comprehensive sociology of Weber. Will realize it through an interview that the French sociologist has kindly agreed to give. It is about a) discerning the aspects of the sociological theory of Weber that marked the work of Maffesoli, and at the same time b) accentuate the differences in position between the two, including the relativistic reading that offers us Maffesoli and Boudon in the framework of methodological individualism.

Palavras-chave : relativism; holism; rationalism; methodological individualism; comprehensive sociology.
