Qualitative interviews with 21 theatre actors and actresses from 25 to 38 years old were conducted. The results show that contacts and actors and actresses’ adscription with a renowned public figure is a strategy to get access to job opportunities and for the development of a professional career, though the interviewees highlighted that social origin and education are elements influencing on labour inequality in the cultural sector.
