ARTEAGA BOTELLO, Nelson. Los estudios sobre la zona metropolitana del valle de Toluca: Aproximaciones estructurales y centradas en los actores. Región y sociedad [online]. 2005, vol.17, n.33, pp.70-105. ISSN 2448-4849.

This article analyzes the research made in the metropolitan area of Toluca, Mexico, under the social sciences disciplines perspective. It demonstrates the superiority of the studies that emphasize the structural approaches, rather than those centered on the actors. This work shows not only the issue actual status, but tries also to show the differences regarding analysis perspectives development, in order to underling the need of overcoming them, as far as knowledge output is concern. The present document proposes the exploration of a link among the studies that look toward a specific focus, with structural approaches, and centered on the actors, since the latter are still basic for a type of urban and regional analysis. This will lead to visualize the integration of the metropolitan area of Toluca, from a different perspective.
