Predictions are a central element in Mayan culture, and they signify the historical synthesis of a way of thinking that can be related as cyclical time. Anchored in mythology but articulated in other forms of understanding reality, Maya thought is still present in a large part of the indigenous population in Yucatan, and can be distinguished from rationalist thought, characteristic of western peoples. In this article It will be explored the link between this style of thought and the precarious and marginal conditions the Mayan people have endured since the Conquest.
