NUNEZ HERNANDEZ, Juan Carlos et al. Paraneoplastic syndromes associated with lung cancer. Acta méd. Grupo Ángeles [online]. 2021, vol.19, n.3, pp.346-353. Epub 04-Abr-2022. ISSN 1870-7203.
Paraneoplastic syndromes are defined as a set of signs and symptoms that appear in distant locations from the underlying malignancy or its metastases in the oncological patient, secondary to the secretion of substances by the tumor or by the development of antibodies directed against tumor antigens, which develop a cross-reaction with other tissues. Among the cancers that most frequently develop these syndromes is lung cancer. The presence of some of these paraneoplastic syndromes can guide us to know the histological line of lung cancer. Similarly, many of these syndromes tend to appear before diagnosis, and may even indicate the prognosis of this cancer.
