ESCOBEDO ALVARADO, Julián; VITE SIERRA, Ariel  e  OROPEZA TENA, Roberto. Factores asociados a la deserción en un tratamiento breve para usuarios de cocaína. En-clav. pen [online]. 2007, vol.1, n.2, pp.117-131. ISSN 2594-1100.

In this study, our main goal was to determine the factors that take part in the decision of subjects to desert the Brief Treatment for Users of Cocaine (TBUC). Twenty four users (x: 27.4 years old) participated; desertion began following first session. We evaluated 6 areas related to general aspects of the therapy. In order to pursue the research, we have contacted the participants by phone. We explained to them the study with the intention of planning a meeting. We have analyzed the percentages of responses and we have applied the R of Pearson with the purpose of obtaining a correlation among the variables in each area. The percentages show that the desertion occurs most frequently after the fourth session. The principal factors that lead to desertion were: the need for time to feel the improvement, continuing consumption of the substance, the lack of results and observing that the problem was not diminishing. All of these factors, and the way in which they're combined, are implicated in a probable desertion of the treatment.

Palavras-chave : Drop out; factors related to drug consumption; brief treatment; cocaine consumption; cognitive behavioral models.
