BRETON MORA HERNANDEZ, Carlos. Los derechos humanos en Francisco de Vitoria. En-clav. pen [online]. 2013, vol.7, n.14, pp.35-62. ISSN 2594-1100.

This article represents an effort that seeks to distinguish the correlation of a doctrine which is scattered in various works of Francisco de Vitoria, such as the relection of Civil Power and those relating to the Indians, among others. From this correspondence, arises a doctrinal substrate which stands on Vitoria's brilliant conception of human rights, both in its philosophical foundation and its legal implementation. Thus, in order to unravel Vitoria's contributions to human rights, the methodology to follow is essential, it involved the analysis of the concept of human dignity in the Dominican and its relationship to political power; therefore from such a relationship, decanted a series of rights and freedoms of the individual person as the holder of inalienable individual rights. Finally, it establishes, from a doctrinal perspective, what kind of philosophical foundation fits the conception vitorian of human rights. Due to the implemented methodology applied, this article is evocative.

Palavras-chave : Human rights; God; political power; freedom and equality; human dignity.
