This article explores Feodor Dostoyevsky´s ethical principles of Orthodox Christianity, and reflects on the thoughts and attitudes of his novelistic characters. The intention is to make evident the possibility of reading Dostoevsky beyond the religious canons, in order to understand his idea of true love and its potential for the transformation of human existence.
