In order to contribute to the research of Søren Kierkegaard’s works reception in Mexico, this article submits an analysis on the presence of his ideas in the works of Alfonso Reyes and Juan José Arreola. To achieve this objective, this article will approach succinctly the world and national parameters of Kierkegaard’s reception, following with a punctual analysis of the explicit references that Reyes and Arreola made about the Danish philosopher. This will provide adequate tools to understand the presence of Kierkegaard’s thought in Reyes and Arreola works and try to correct the lack of research of Kierkegaard’s reception in non-philosophical academic fields.
