The purpose of this paper is to present an approach to environmental education, indicating particularly the way in which it emerged. In addition we present some notes on the concept, the problematic and the peculiar characteristics of the topic. The methodology used is that of bibliographical review in order to rescue the points of view of important and relevant experts on the problems roused by the current processes of globalization.
