VENEGAS MAINGON, Alejandro  e  HERNANDEZ MUNOZ, Verónica. Analysis of the Limits of the Constituent Power. Derecho glob. Estud. sobre derecho justicia [online]. 2019, vol.5, n.13, pp.41-63.  Epub 28-Ago-2020. ISSN 2448-5136.  https://doi.org/10.32870/dgedj.v0i13.240.

The first constitutions were birthed by constituent powers brought on by the American and French revolutions. From that time, up til now the constituent powers has been used to rewrite old constitutions and create new ones. However throughout time, limits have been set for this type of constituent power in order to protect citizens’ rights. In this essay we detail each and every one of the limits set by the constituent power, using the example of the constitutional reform of Ecuador in 2007.

Palavras-chave : constituent powers; constitution; constitutional reform.
