The renewed legal framework for the exploitation of hydrocarbons that would be implemented as of 2014 would not only bring with it the legal possibility of incorporating private capital into the sector through the legal instrument of contracts, but also a new energy scenario in which greater interaction would germinate legal status between private individuals with profoundly disparate legal and socioeconomic conditions. In this context, the general purpose of this article is to analyze certain rules of the legal and contractual framework that implement the exploitation of hydrocarbons, in order to determine if their regulation acts in favor of the aggravation of the social vulnerability that afflicts the members of rural communities, who are somehow involved in the dynamics surrounding oil exploitation.
