In this article, I propose a reading of lesbian sexuality and its relationship with Argentine gauchesca literature in Gabriela Cabezón Cámara’s novel, The adventures of China Iron, published in 2017. I am interested in stopping to analyze the nuances, provocations and scope of that literary gesture that places the figure of the lesbian at the very center of the canon, a whole twist in and out of literature and its history, towards the canon and towards the readers. It is a text where lesbian sexuality appears as a possible place from which to resignify and rewrite the literary tradition but it is also a political gesture because it proposes a different narrative, other alliances, other erotic, linguistic and narrative paths.
