GONZALEZ CRUZ, Alexis. From the breath to the voice: writing as a hegemonic emancipation in El libro vacío by Josefina Vicens. Connotas. Rev. crit. teór. lit. [online]. 2021, n.23, pp.78-106.  Epub 16-Dez-2021. ISSN 2448-6019.  https://doi.org/10.36798/critlit.v0i23.370.

This article analyzes Josefina Vicens’s novel El libro vacío in the light of the theoretical proposal on writing that Hélène Cixous raises in two essays: Coming to Writing and The Laugh of Meduse. In the novel, José García develops a voice of writing, motivated by a bodily breath, that resists a phallologocentric representation through the contrast between the narrator’s intentionality and textual configuration. It is proposed, then, that through the feminine logic of expenditure and enjoyment, the novel presents a register of masculinity different from the hegemonic one.
