QUECHA REYNA, Citlali. Return Migration and Child Socialization: An Aproach to Afro-Mexicans. An. antropol. [online]. 2021, vol.55, n.1, pp.21-30.  Epub 16-Maio-2022. ISSN 2448-6221.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iia.24486221e.2020.0.71411.

This contribution presents a reflection and analysis of the scenarios that are generated in the interaction between Afro-Mexican children, who return from the United States to the communities of origin, either their own or their parents. In particular, the implications of its reintegration in the school environment will be presented in greater detail. The article will provide data related to the ideas that circulate around the word “foreigner”. The analytical perspective with which this phenomenon is studied is the anthropology of childhood in dialogue with studies on racism and xenophobia. The data presented correspond to Afro-descendant communities in the Costa Chica region, in the states of Guerrero and Oaxaca, México.

Palavras-chave : Costa Chica; Mexico; xenophobia; childhood; foreigners.
