PENA SANCHEZ, Edith Yesenia. Bioanthropological heritage and cultural identity. An. antropol. [online]. 2022, vol.56, n.1, pp.67-77.  Epub 05-Maio-2023. ISSN 2448-6221.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iia.24486221e.2022.80158.

In the historical trajectory of the Mexican state’s cultural policies, a dynamic corpus of definitions, strategies, programs, and normative regulations has been consolidated in accordance with the constitution and international conventions on the approach to cultural expressions, heritage assets, heritage, and cultural rights, which require defense, protection, disclosure, and conservation. Among these, I will focus on analyzing the relationship between bioanthropological heritage and identity, a situation that has crucial implications not only for physical and social anthropology but also for the biomedical research that has been the object of legislation in this country, as well as its debate in ethical terms.

Palavras-chave : Heritage; bioanthropology; identity; physical anthropology; Mexico.
