RANGEL SILVA, José Alfredo. Communal land owners, the lawyer and the senator. Political culture and the liberal order at the end of the Porfiriato. Hist. mex. [online]. 2015, vol.64, n.3, pp.937-1000. ISSN 2448-6531.

In 1906, the heads of household from five indigenous communities asked the lawyer Wistano Luis Orozco to represent them in their legal battle for the defense of their land. Part of their legal strategy was to prepare a written statement detailing their grievances and addressing it to Porfirio Díaz. The written statement and the legal process it sparked exemplify how social actors gave form to political culture at the local, state and national level towards the end of the Porfiriato.
