The aim of this paper consists in identifying, in aggregate form, the determinants of the migration rates to the United States from the American countries (with the statistical data from the Migration Policy Institute). Using the neoclassical approach as the theoretical base, which is grounded in the models of Borjas (1999) and Harris & Todaro (1970), and the systemic multifactorial approach, that is empirically referenced by DeWaard et al., (2009). For the development of this article, it is instrumented a panel data analysis for the period 2000-2019, taking in consideration, for the selection of the independents variables, the strategic economic issues that the government of the United States raises as the “roots causes of the migration”, which are: the investment, employment, inflation, and the capture of the effects of the international trade agreements.
