This article presents the proposal for a prototype for the collection of recyclable waste. The objective of the prototype is to promote environmental commitment, incorporating the entire community of the Los Valles University Center of the University of Guadalajara in the work of separating and collecting waste, through a reward system. The technical characteristics of the prototype are presented, as well as the considerations used for industrial design, identity and visual communication, taking into consideration the objective of the prototype: in this case, a change in attitude from the design of a system integrated into the environment. The results obtained are shown, including the complete prototype, based on sustainability. The work shows the integration of disciplines by having the intervention of engineers and graphic designers in the development of visual communication to reinforce the identity between the university community and the design object.
