This article presents an analytical approach to several transformations registered in the political sphere due to the Covid-19 pandemic in the Sierra Tarahumara. First, it renders an account of the collective decisions made by the Ralámuli and Ódami communities regarding prevention. Secondly, the challenges and difficulties faced by indigenous peoples in guaranteeing their political rights in the context of the pandemic are highlighted. Finally, the article identifies the different cultural conceptions regarding the new disease, among both the indigenous and non-indigenous populations, thus highlighting the different cultural configurations in relation to health-disease and life and death issues.
