Gac. mex. oncol. [online]. 2020, vol.19, suppl.1, pp.19-23. Epub 14-Fev-2022. ISSN 2565-005X. https://doi.org/10.24875/j.gamo.19000137.
Penile cancer is an aggressive disease with psychological and social repercussions. The case of a 27-year-old male patient diagnosed with penile cancer, who received 7 sessions of psychological counselling, is presented. In these sessions he was able to understand his situation, reorganize his fears and accept the designated treatment. A decrease in anxiety in relation to body image was also observed previous and post-surgery. Psychological counselling can help the penile cancer patient face the crises consequent in the diagnosis and treatment.
